Dynparity: Dynamic disparity adjustment to avoid stereo window violations on stationary stereoscopic displays

چکیده
We propose a novel method to avoid stereo window violations at screen borders. These occur for objects in front of the zero parallax plane, which appear (physical) screen, and that are clipped one eye while still being visible other eye. This contradicts cues, particularly disparity, potentially resulting strain simulator sickness. In interactive dynamic virtual environments, where user controls camera, example, via head tracking, it is impossible completely. Dynparity, rendering eliminate conflict between clipping negative by introducing nonuniform stereoscopic projection. For each vertex we compute projection such approaches toward edge screen. Our approach works entirely on GPU real-time can be easily included modern game engines. conducted study comparing our standard large-screen wall with tracking. results show significantly reduced sickness when using Dynparity compared rendering.

Real-Time Stereo Matching using Adaptive Window based Disparity Refinement
In this paper, we propose a real-time stereo matching method based on adaptive window, aiming at the trade-off between accuracy and efficiency in current local stereo matching, Considering that the Census transform has good adaptability to image amplitude distortion, but may introduce matching ambiguities in regions with noise or similar local structures, we combine the Census transform with AD...
متن کاملFast Stereo Matching using Adaptive Window based Disparity Refinement
Aiming at the trade-off between accuracy and efficiency in current local stereo matching, a fast stereo matching method based on adaptive window is proposed. The census transform combined with absolute differences (AD) is used for matching cost initialization. Then an iterative cost aggregation based on exponential step adaptive weight (ESAW) is adopted to improve the parallelism and execution ...
متن کاملStereoscopic Displays
Rapid developments in information technology and the increasing complexity and dimensionality of datasets have led to ever increasing demand for innovative display techniques. Stereoscopic displays allow observers to perceive depth effects and empower them to visualize information in a three-dimensional (3D) space. The proliferation of 3D displays has been mainly driven by the tremendous potent...
متن کاملDynamic adjustment of stereo display parameters
A review of the facts about human stereo vision leads to the conclusion that the human stereo processing mechanism is very flexible in the presence of other depth cues. Stereopsis seems to provide only local additional depth information, rather than defining the overall 3D geometry of a perceived scene. This paper reports on an experimental approach to adjusting stereo parameters automatically ...
متن کاملDynamic Adjustment of TCP Window Sizes
The original design of TCP failed to support reasonable performance over networks with large bandwidths and high round-trip times. Subsequent work on TCP has enabled the use of larger flow-control windows, yet the use of these options is still relatively rare, because manual tuning has been required. Other work has developed means for avoiding this manual tuning step, but those solutions lack g...
